What is Perceived Quality?
As consumers, we use our senses to assess every product or service that we consider purchasing.
This assessment forms the basis for our perception of a product, and strongly affects our purchase decision.
All other factors being near equal (cost, availability, brand, performance, etc), a positive perception is more
likely to result in a decision to purchase, whilst a negative perception will motivate the consumer to continue
the search for a better product.
The principal factors affecting perception are:
Appearance how it looks
Haptic how it feels
Deployment how it works
Acoustic how it sounds
Olefactory how it smells
Psychological how it affects mood, energy, reaction, etc.
